Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients (A)
  • 1 Chinese dried mushroom
  • 1 box firm tofu
  • 70 g minced meat pork or chicken
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornflour
  • 1 tablespoon onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic chopped
Seasoning (B)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • A dash of ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water
Garnish
  • Chopped red chilli and scallion spring onion

Equipment

  • Wok or frying pan
  • Deep-fry pan

Method
 

  1. Soak the mushroom in warm water until soft. Remove the stem and cut into small cubes.
  2. Cut the tofu in half and deep-fry in hot oil at 190C / 375F for about 5 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Saute the onion and garlic until fragrant. Add the minced meat and stir-fry until aromatic.
  4. Add the mushroom and the Ingredients B seasoning; cook until the gravy thickens.
  5. Place the tofu on a plate and top with the minced meat gravy.
  6. Garnish with chopped red chilli and spring onions. Serve.
